The results of the first five races of the individual championship were used for the seeding of the team race championships. At the South Americans as well as at the North Americans there are two parallel events: one for the sailors from the continent and one for the sailors from outside of the continent. In this case the South American Team Race Championship (SAMTR) is open to teams from South America and the Nations Cup (NC) for other teams plus teams from South America that didn't qualified for the SAMTR.
Based on the results available yesterday at 2000 the preliminary lists of 16 teams that qualified for the SAMTR and the NC, in the order of qualification, are the following:

The Race Committee expect to complete the events in just one day, otherwise the spare day will be used. Weather conditions for today have been forecasted as better than yesterday's but at 0925 the sea is flat with no wind at all. Let's hope for the forecasts to be correct!
