ISAF TEAM RACING CHAMPIONSHIP 2011

NOV
03

We know that our class has more active team racing than any other and the International Sailing Federation have now recognised both that and the quality of the racing, by reserving a place at the ISAF Team Racing World Championship 2011 for the Optimist Team Racing World Champions of 2010. The winners of the IODA Challenge Cup in Malaysia will have the opportunity to compete in Schull, West Cork, Ireland in August 2011. The Notice of Race, which can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of the page, states that:

"NOR 3.1: A maximum of 24 teams will be invited. One place will be reserved for the winners of the 2010 Optimist Worlds Team Racing Championship. At least two of the skippers of the winning team must be entered and sail as skippers."

Each team shall consist of three crews of two competitors each. A minimum of one competitor (out of six) shall be a girl. Competitors shall be at least 14 years of age before December 31 2011.

This is a tremendous acknowledgement of what you all do so well. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
