Please note that even when the World Championship is held at the end of the year, condition 7.1.b of the Conditions for the Europeans is still applicable. Sailors who attend the European Championship will not be allowed to participate in the Worlds in Malaysia. This condition applies to sailors from any nationality and continent, not only to sailors from Europe.

Condition 7.1.b of the Conditions for the IODA European Championship

The sailors who have sailed or will sail in the same year’s IODA World Sailing Championship are not allowed to participate in the European Championship, except as provided in Condition 7.1.c (former champion)

Competitors who will compete in the IODA World Sailing Championship 2010 are not allowed to participate, except that the defending 2009 European (closed) champions (boy and girl) may participate, if eligible, in addition to those stated in NoR 3.3 above.
